2019 Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Concept And Price

2019 Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Concept And Price – The Chicago Auto Show may not be one of the major venues for debuts, but the 2015 show certainly is shaping up to be pretty exciting. Debuting in the Windy City is the 2016 Acura RDX, the revised 2016 Equinox, and this MX-5 Accessories Design Concept. No, this isn’t some wild and crazy concept with a zillion horsepower and a billion pound-feet of torque. Instead, this concept highlights some of the accessories that Mazda may offer for the 2019 MX-5.

2019 Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Future

While this concept doesn’t carry any insane body kits or wild tuner components, it does a show of just how good the 2019  Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Concept can look with a little work. I just wonder if a concept with so few changes was really worth teasing.

2019 Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Exterior And Interior

The MX-5 Accessories Concept is here, and it shows off a few extra bits and pieces that you may (or may not) be able to add to the 2019  Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Concept. The most obvious of changes are the 17-inch black BBS wheels wrapped up in 205/45R17 rubber. Peeking out from behind these wheels are red Brembo calipers. There’s also a gloss-black aero kit that includes a front air dam, side sill extensions, a rear bumper skirt, and a trunk-lid spoiler. If this aero kit seems oddly familiar, it should; it was debuted with the 2016 MX-5 Global Cup Car that Mazda showed off at SEMA.To help the body kit and wheels stand out even more so, Mazda coated the MX-5 in a hue called Ceramic Metallic. This color is essentially a deep white that looks to have a slight tinge of gray mixed in, and it looks stunning. I hope Mazda offers this as an available color on the production model. The interior, unfortunately, is all standard ware. I am shocked that Mazda decided not to add any accents to spice things up a bit. Maybe these will come at a later date.

2019 Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Engine

This is where the big news comes in. No, Mazda didn’t add any updates to the Skyactive 2.0-liter engine; instead, the automaker has finally confirmed that the U.S.-spec MX-5 will have 155 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. I must say that I am quite disappointed with this announcement, as that puts the MX-5 at the exact same horsepower as the Mazda MX-5 Accessories Design Concept and Mazda3, and down 2 pound-feet from those same two cars. How exactly can you justify selling the Miata with less torque and the same horsepower as your base-level Mazda3? That baffles the brain. And, whatever happened to Mazda claiming to tune this engine specifically for the Miata? Guess that meant reducing its torque…I can ramble on for hours about this, but I won’t bore you with my anger. At least Mazda claims to have reduced the weight by 150 pounds, mostly from shaving about 4 inches from its length. At least it still comes with a standard six-speed manual.

The base Cooper Roadster is in the range of the Miata at $26,100, but the $29,100 Cooper S Roadster and the $35,350 John Cooper Works Roadster are a little high to run with the Mazda.
